2 Photos Sold!
Jan. 16th, 2008 05:44 pmI have an online stock photo agent, mainly for the prestige I get when I say I'm a published photographer and the ability to write stuff off on my taxes. It certainly isn't for the money (stock $ is a joke at best - any potential income is made on reselling the same photo hundreds of times, which I currently am not popular enough to do)! I sell a few photos a year for very little cash, but it makes me happy. This is the first time I've sold two in one week and when I went to check my history, I noticed a previously sold photo wasn't bought for the usual web-sale I originally thought (they buy the lowest resolution to use on websites), but someone actually purchased an Extended RF License for my very first photograph that I took back in 1997! That photos has been published in 3 photography anthologies so far and the current stock use of an RF license means someone buys the original resolution and can actually put it on items for resale. So I'm excited - people actually like my work enough to pay for it!
If anyone is curious, my stock library is located here: http://www.fotolia.com/p/126252
**I found where one of my images was used! www.mbs-yoga.com - It's the white flowers in the "Wellness" button. If I find any more, I'll post them too.
Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread Fireplace

I wish I had pictures of my first gingerbread, which was a 3-storey Victorian with blue icing from an old Better Homes And Gardens Contest Winner recipe. If I could at least find that old article, I'd post the magazine picture, but I can't even find that. More pictures and the How To at http://www.theinnbetween.net/gingerbread.html
New Photography
Dec. 25th, 2007 02:25 pmBut I hate being sick and I hate being incapacitated. I hate sleeping, eating, going to the bathroom, being sick, anything that takes time away from the enjoyment of life. Part of my enjoyment comes from being physically active. I can't dance, I can't work. I can only take sit-down gigs like long-throw camera calls which are few and far between. I had a slow summer and have not yet recovered my finances and now this gets in my way. This is incredibly frustrating and because I can't do anything "strenuous" I can't even be properly aggravated.
Life is good ...
Aug. 11th, 2007 11:28 pmI'm very happy right now. I'm bouncy. I had to say it because I'm so happy and I can't keep it silent but no one that I talk to about stuff like this is online right now so I'm effusing all over LJ. This scares me. It can't possibly remain this good for very long.
( Lots of babbling about happiness )

Massive Website Update
Feb. 20th, 2007 04:15 pmI decided my poly page on my website was rambling and not very coherent. So I started writing a new page that was a bit more organized.
It ran away with me.
Anyway, it's finally completed and I've uploaded the pages to the server so that my friends can take a look and let me know what they think. I already know it's big. Any other comments or constructive criticisms?
The "poly" link on my website doesn't go to any of these new pages yet , it goes to my old poly page (including the poly link at the bottom of each of these new pages). I plan to replace my old poly1.html page with the new poly.html page (the first page in the series) tomorrow, after I've had some comments, in case I need to alter something.

So, let me know what you think!
Caught in the Throws of Project Mania
Jan. 9th, 2007 02:32 amMy natural sleeping rhythm has had time to reassert itself. I really am a "night person", contrary to my mother's belief that I will "grow out of it" once I just put myself on a "normal schedule". As I spent time in CA, by the first night, I had adjusted to PST version of "late night", staying up until what would have been my sunrise. Then, flying back to FL, I took a redeye flight with 2 layovers, so I got less than 3 hours sleep total, and that was broken. When I landed, I didn't get to take a nap because I immediately spent the afternoon socializing with my sweetie
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
So, since then, I have been unable to sleep until it starts to lighten outside, then I'm out like a rock. I sleep naturally for about 6 hours, then wake up quickly, no alarm, full of energy and in a good mood. I am so a night-person!
So I came back from CA full of project ideas, and I suddenly find myself with both the time and energy to start work on them.
Yay! Projects!

I'm a geek
Nov. 6th, 2006 08:18 pmSo, I am such a huge nerd that, while updating my sexual history sheet, I decided to create a graphical representation of my sexual history. It's not as detailed as I'd like, but I haven't decided how many more details I should represent. So far, it's a bar graph/timeline that shows everyone in my history in chronological order and color-coordinated based on 4 categories: 1) casual/fuckbuddies/one-night-stands that do not include intercourse, 2) relationships that do not include intercourse, 3) casual/fuckbuddies/one-night-stands that do include intercourse and 4) relationships that include intercourse. I thought about coding for specific activities (since they are included on the list), but the color coding or other forms of grouping would be complicated because of the large number of combinations of activities, if not number of activities themselves. The timeline is broken up by my age in years, so it's hard to tell some of the chronology because some years I had several partners in one year, but they weren't all concurrent. Problem is I'm so fuzzy on time, that I'm not sure how to clarify that because I can barely remember the year, let alone the month or date! So I still have some work to do, but it's a good start.
But yeah, I'm a dork.
