As tacit says, there are several people on my friends list that I have done this (or similar) with and several more that I haven't but would like to ... plus a good number of people I wouldn't mind doing this with all at once!  But I'm finding this particularly amusing right now in light of my recent party activities (along with a coincidental Twitter Astronomy Survey) so I'm joining the meme.

And for those of you on my friends list who are reasonably or even just pretty sure that this statement applies to you ... it probably does ;-)

I don't think I generally scream in pleasure. I can't think of any time that I have.

I never really did either, although I do make noise, until I was introduced to the Hitachi Magic Wand.

It rips the orgasm right out of you and I can't help screaming!

Consequently, I don't use it very often, to avoid disturbing neighbors, housemates, people in the next hotel room, etc.

Interesting. "rips the orgasm right out of you" doesn't actually sound enjoyable, but I suspect that's just the language of it. I usually associate noise with noise in other contexts, it's inefficiency. Making noise is usually a distraction that is taking something away from my enjoyment of what I am doing. Noise takes focus. It's like noisy motorcycles; I hear them and I think, ah the noise is a sign of inefficiency, energy that is not going toward speed and movement.

Although I have not tried a hitachi wand, so I don't feel qualified to say how I'd react. Obviously with sex, there will be a lot of variation.

I just found the scenario interesting, because I really couldn't think of a context where I'd be screaming and enjoying myself. I'd more likely be annoyed or in pain if I was screaming, possibly really angry, which are all things I do not have positive associations for, and seem like I would particularly dislike if I was tied up. But if you take out the screaming, then it might be quite nice.

I mean, I could do it and just scream for form's sake, but that does seem a little silly.

That phrasing is the most common description of the Magic Wand that I've heard, and having experienced it, I think it's accurate.

What it means is that one has no choice but to orgasm - unlike many other toys, which can be pleasurable or not depending on the person and even on a situation-by-situation basis.

The screaming is involuntary. I was never a screamer, and I wasn't even much for making noise in general (I think my early experiences of illicit sex as a teenager programmed me for silence) until I got this. I didn't even realize how loud I was screaming until the second time my then-partner used it on me actually covered my mouth to muffle the volume.

I had trouble thinking of a context where I'd be screaming and enjoying myself too. In fact, I have trouble thinking of a context in which I would be screaming period. I let out squeaks and high-pitched noises of surprise, like when I'm tickled and stuff, but I see girls in horror movies, for instance, who just open their mouths and scream for all their worth, and I find myself too inhibited to do so. I even had trouble shouting in martial arts classes and stuff because it just doesn't seem like making the noise helps anything.

But, for some reason, once I started using the Magic Wand, I also started getting more vocal during sex in general, even when the Magic Wand wasn't being used, also involuntary. After a couple of years of practice, I now actually find it incredibly difficult to go back to my early silent practices, where I could have sex with someone with someone else in the room who didn't know it.
