Seriously!  Did you know that the reason we should prohibit gay marriage is because if guys figure out that they can get cock up the ass, none of them will want to marry women and all us poor women will be left alone with no mans to take care of us?!  It's twue!

I just can't believe that someone actually quoted a first century poet as a reason to outlaw gay marriage and that his actual, stated position is that men will be too tempted to abandon their wives once they fuck other men.

I am willing to deal with the competition. I still seem able to be sufficiently attractive for my needs, even if I am competing against males as well as other females (which I'm mostly not, anyway, as I'm poly, but there are limits in dividing up time, so there is some potential element of competition, plus I need to be found adequately attractive despite all those smooth-skinned young boys out there).

I do wonder though, how young are these "smooth-skinned young boys". I suspect it may ~not~ be legal actually to have sex with them.

Yes, as one of the women who will potentially lose partners to the siren call of butt sex, I'm willing to take that risk.

I suspect, given the date of the original poet's life, that there wasn't an age of consent at all, and were therefore probably "legal". However, since there *is* an age of consent in this country, legalizing marriage *still* won't change things significantly from what's already legal :-)

Yes, I meant more, would the young boys he was talking about be legal in our society? I suspect not, because I suspect "young" by those standards would mean "jail bait" by our standards.

So, I'm more competing with the moderately smooth but sometimes rough skinned men rather than the smooth-skinned young boys.

Yep, I figured that too. Even if I were still monogamous, I'd still be willing to take the risk. This idiot doesn't seem to understand that guys who don't like girls are already out of my dating pool. And what's so fantastic about a marriage with a guy who can't get it up for girls but is married to me because he can't marry the guy he'd prefer to marry?

I've said it before and I'll say it again ... I do not want my partner to be a prisoner, someone who is with me because he has no other choice. Relationships where my partner *can* leave and chooses not to is much more meaningful. If he'd rather be with someone else, then I'd rather he go.
