Wow, I match horribly with matchmes. I only matched myself about 87% when I took my own while logged out. And I match much worse with matchmes than in general for other people. Part of it is that I really want to skip some of the questions. Part of it is that a lot of the questions are on there as important for people because they wanted to rule out the one insane option, but I think the matchme cares about if you give the same answer and if you give any of the ones accepted.
I matched you 59% but generally match 83%. I'd love to know how the two styles of matching compare to each other and how we can get such radically different percentages with the same person.
There's a test for me? Hmmm. Well, from what fatesgirl said, I would assume it randomly draws questions from ones you rank as important. When I got yours, I had an almost identical questions about dating an atheist 3 times. The different questionss would give different ranks.
Well, yes, it draws questions from the ones you rank as important, but the general percentage matching also comes from the questions you answer, which is why I wonder how it's possible to have such a large discrepancy. I have a few ideas ... I just want to know the specific mechanics of how it works, cuz I'm like that :-D
The test for everyone is made automatically. You can go to it by visiting anyone's profile (to see who has been taking your matchme test, visit your own profile) and click on the Tests link at the top of the profile. At the top of the Tests page is the Matchme banner where you can take their Matchme test, or if it's your own profile, you can see who has taken your Matchme test and how they did. It only shows the last 10 people, though.

In general, OKcupid says that we are 74% Match, 78% Friend, 15% Enemy based upon our answered questions.
