joreth: (Dobert Demons of Stupidity)
I don't know who he is, where he's a senator of, what party he represents, and I don't care.  But I have to respect a politician who is willing to stand up and call the crazy for what it is.  The very idea that any Westernized leader can be put even in the same zip code as a man who slaughtered millions of people in his effor to create a Master Race is so ludicrous that, like Barry here, I don't even know where to start with it and I don't even want to.

You can dislike Obama for a great many legitimate things, he's certainly not perfect.  But calling him a Nazi and drawing over his picture to look like Hitler?  I'm with Barry ... what planet do you spend most of your time on?

Barney's a Dem congressman (US House of Reps) from Massachusetts. Unrelentingly liberal AND the first openly gay member of Congress.

The republicans HATE him and tried to pin the entire mortgage crash on him because he allegedly had a relationship with the guy who ran one of the mortgage companies.

And while I felt their accusations were closer to the truth, I still felt that they were wildly off-base.

Politics in this country has become extremely polarized. I feel that most people feel that which club they're a member of is more important than any argument involving logic or reason. I wish that we would do something to change the two party system in a significant way. I think it does us immense amounts of harm.

Barney Frank is from my neck of the woods (Boston area); I've admired him since he was a young state rep, and I've donated every time he's run for re-election (not that he needs it -- he always wins by a huge margin). Now once again he proves that he's more than worth it.

Cheers,

Alan MacR.
