Happy Constitution Day!

221 years ago today, our Constitution was signed.

So celebrate your civil rights while you still have them!  One great way is to get out there and vote for Obama - not necessarily because he's the best candidate for the job (although between the two choices, he is the better candidate), but because a vote for anyone else is a vote for McCain ... and a vote for McCain is a vote to remove your civil liberties, one by one.

I will be voting for Obama because I think he's the best of the choices we have.

I agree, of the candidates available, I think he's the better choice. He is, unfortunately, not my favorite choice of all possible options, just out of the options that actually made it this far in the running.

Also unfortunately, I know some people who dislike both candidates enough that they will not vote, or will vote for a third party, or vote for Snoopy (yes, someone told me that just this weekend) rather than support a "lesser of two evils" choice. So I wanted to point out how that type of vote actually gives the "worst of two evils" the same effect for all intents and purposes as if you voted for him. As aclaro points out in her post recently, the presidential vote is not the place to protest by not voting or voting for some other guy (real or fiction). That only gives more power to the guy you like the least.
