Rock on. I'm not techie enough (i.e. at all) to read the review properly, but my delightful spouse just went to great lengths the other day to get Vista off my laptop and XP on. I exaggerate not that my laptop now boots up something like 20 TIMES faster than it did before. It used to take a good 5 minutes. Freakin' A.

Yeah, I had planned to remove Vista the day I got my laptop (I always format things I buy and reset them the way I like them), but it's proving difficult, and now I hear rumours that sometimes the hardware on laptops come with Vista drivers only so there's a chance that if I do manage to get it off, my laptop won't work anymore. I've compromised by turning off as many Aero features as possible

Yeah, I was warned that removing Vista might fuck everything up, but I was willing to take the risk. Still, it must've taken my poor boy a good 10 hours over two days to get everything reformatted.
