Yeah, the religious swearing has several angles for me. On the one hand, I don't want to take for granted all the religiosity in our culture by allowing slang to slip in out of habit. But on the other hand, as you said, it's easily recognized as blasphemous so in some cases, I *do* want to use religious slang for pretty much the same reason as I want to remove it in other cases. For instance, I've started saying "jesus fuck" when I'm astonished, especially if the astonishment is bad, like "jesus fuck the living conditions of those refugees is terrible!"
And, as I touched on briefly, I do have specific moral reasons to deliberately swear, making a point about censorship and imposing values and the hypocrisy of allowing a sentiment but disapproving over the vowels and consonants used to express that sentiment, that could take up a whole rant on its own. Basically, I agree with Penn & Teller's Bullshit episode on cussing (I have serious disagreements with them on other issues, but taken in isolation, that's a pretty good episode that covers my views on the subject).
So I'm not removing all religious-based swearing, but the casual phrases "oh my god" and "dear lord" and random use of the word "god", as in "oh god" or "god no!" or "good god!", I want to find some kind of substitution. I still like "Jesus Fuckme Christ" through :-)
