I have really mixed feelings about gift-giving as well, because I love giving people gifts when I know what to get, but am miserable about it when I don't. And I don't want to buy someone a gift just to buy them a gift, because that's kinda crappy. And money is scarce right now. But then there's the social obligation to get everyone gifts if you get anyone gifts.
So... yeah. I feel you. I'm still navigating this though.
