Even after explaining that the club had no dress code, I have seen FAR more newbies who were too uncomfortable to attend a club or public dungeon until they felt properly attired, than newbies who refused to attend because they couldn't put together a pair of black jeans and a black t-shirt. Feeling as though one is attired according to the social context is a very important element in reducing nervousness in a new situation.
