joreth: (Purple Mobius)

I did a vanity search for my name on Google, just because it's sometimes beneficial to see what other people might be saying about me.  Usually, very little comes up other than my own websites, journals, or comments on other websites.  Mostly what I see are links to sci-fi and RPG related sites with some character with either my real name or online name.

Lately, I've been showing up because of the few poly articles I've done.

Today, I found something strange.

http://www.challengeonline.org/modules/articles/print.php?id=124 is a website for "Traditional Angelicanism" and this is a page for something called "bonus stories".  Apparently, it's a few articles that are only available on their website and not in any other medium?

There's an article about 2/3 of the way down the page called "In Related News: Beyond Marriage" and it's about beyondmarriage.org and their "manifesto" that dares to demand equal civil rights for all adult citizens for such privileges like inheritance and hospital visitation rights.  I vaguely remember signing some petition here.

But what's interesting is the final paragraph, that states:

Hundreds of people had signed the document so far. Most are little-known social activists and professors. However, some signers worthy of note include: ... Betty Dodson, PhD (sexologist and author of Sex for One and Orgasms for Two); ... Kenneth R. Haslam MD (founding member, Unitarian Universalists for Polyamory Awareness);  ... Gloria Steinem (founder and original publisher, Ms. magazine); ... and Shara Smith (Entertainment technician, polyamory activist).

Blink blink.

I'm shocked, amazed, flabbergasted, and honored to be considered "worthy of note" by the religious right in the fight for civil rights.
