Dragoncon!

I'm making this post full of info that *I* will want for Dragoncon so that it'll all be in one convenient location when I get there, which also means that I'll be updating this post with new information as it comes along.

First of all, if anyone is interested in any of the major group activities where I'll be, I'll be posting my schedule in my Yahoo calendar.  You must be on my Friends' list to view it, and for that you need a Yahoo ID.  So if you have a Yahoo ID and can't see my calendar but want to, let me know.

Next is the info that Dragoncon will be held in FOUR hotels this year instead of just 3.  I haven't even bought my tix yet, but so far I plan to attend.  I'll be driving up with zen_shooter and I will be staying either withtacit or zen_shooter & may_dryad depending on the day and what's going on with whom.

This year I plan to spend way less effort on the costuming and actually visit some panels!  They're not posted yet, but from the track descriptions, I anticipate spending a lot of time in the Science track.

There is talk about the usual Benihana's trip at the end of the con.  Last year we did Dante's decadent fondue feast the night before the con, but I don't see as much interest in that this year, although I'd really like to do it again.  For my own reference, I've pulled up a list of restaurants within 1 mile of the convention site, which I'll put behind a cut so as to not screw up everyone's friends list pages.

Azio's (which is F on the map) was a place we tried out last year and I thought it was pretty good.  The food was decent, the prices were reasonable for a sit-down restaurant walking distance from a major convention, it was walking distance from the con, and they were able to accomodate a large group that kept changing size as more people showed up late and other people left early and checks had to be divided up in the oh-so-messily way that poly groups at restaurants do.  So I'm up for this place again too.  I can only eat convention pizza so many times in a row!
