The US has a 2.5 year wait for health care ~if you're lucky~. And the stories of people having health problems while waiting (and it's not a waiting list, just a mandatory 2.5 year wait regardless of how many or how few people are ahead of you, unless you have just the right medical problem to skip at least part of the wait) or being outright denied read like horror stories.
