Hey, you looked in a better dictionary :-) But that was one of my points: wiktionary represents how ordinary volunteers from the Internet (not linguists) understand the word -- and indeed, their understanding is skewed.
I suspect that an ethical disagreement might hide somewhere here -- let me try to check it. What, in your opinion, is more ethically wrong: 1) To steal someone's brand new laptop and sell it on eBay, or 2) To steal someone's brand new laptop and destroy it?
