Laurie Jupiter is not the one I didn't mention. I didn't mention the other one because it's more of a put-together costume, not really something I'm building, but it should be a hit at Dragon*con. In fact, I kind of expect there to be a lot of that same costume there, because it's so easy to put together.

I've actually been trying to think of other elementals to do, in case I have other friends that I can build a costume for, and I'm having trouble coming up with some. It's been a really long time since I studied any "wicca" or read D&D-fantasy that deals with elementals.

The costumes started out because [livejournal.com profile] corpsefairy is nicknamed The Evil Elf among her friends, and when they met me for the first time, they all proclaimed me to be her "evil twin". During a conversation where we were joking about this, I was hit by inspiration to create Twin Evil Elf costumes. Physically, she's just about my polar opposite, petite, blonde, blue-eyed, curvacious. So we decided on Fire & Ice Elves.

Then [livejournal.com profile] may_dryad and I started brainstorming costumes for Dragon*con and one of the options she chose was the Earth Elf, which will go great with her dark, curly hair and deep brown eyes (hers won't be ready until next year). She briefly considered Water, but that was too close to the Ice Elf, and really, all that blue looks better on a blonde or someone without the olive-toned skin.

Hmm, I wonder if I could do an Air Elf in shades of grey, like a storm instead of blue?

So, yeah, any suggestions on elements for future costumes is great. All of the Evil Elves have the following things in common: latex, top & panties, chain mail skirt, knee-high or thigh-high boots, twisty sword, choker, bow & arrows.

What's different is: the color (to match the element), the tops of the boots, the style of the top (all are fitted/tight but otherwise different - mine is a halter top, Ice is a corset, and Earth is a vest), the pattern of the chain mail, the etched design on the choker, the hair.
