I'm not local, but I used to drive out to Orlando an average of once per quarter to attend PolyCentral meetings when I felt I was getting something out of them.
When the group became so large, and the venue required splitting up into various tables, it lost its appeal. This was back in the China Jade days, so that should tell you something. The last meeting I attended there had over 30 people, and spanned two rooms.
I get that the focus of PolyCentral has always been social. The powers that be out there never intended to have full-blown support-group type activities. Back then, they sent folks to PolyTampa if they wanted support-type discussion!
I'm glad to see you taking action, splitting away from the acidic atmosphere fostered by the old-timers, and developing the kind of community you'd like to see. I hope that we will be able to make it out to a meeting now and then, just to cross-pollinate, so to speak.
