Resting Bitch Face Is Not A Thing

You know what pisses me off? That resting bitch face is a thing. You know why? Because only women have a term for what their faces look like when a smile is not their default expression.

Here's a little secret: YOU ALL HAVE RESTING BITCH FACE BECAUSE NO ONE (but my ex, silverdragon) SMILES ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. It's just that we don't expect men to smile all the time and we don't think there's anything wrong with them if they're not actively emoting joy at any given moment.

Since, y'know, happy feelings are girlie and negative feelings are manly and neutral is male and male is neutral. Or some shit.

Fuck you, I don't have resting bitch face. You who buy into that are the one with the problem recognizing that people have a full range of emotions and that women not being actively happy isn't being a bitch while men not being actively happy isn't an equal problem.

Oh, huh. I know quite a few guys in the UK who use this term for themselves too. Except that the way my folks over here use it, we're usually referring to 'bitch' as a verb.

eg. 'to bitch' is to moan, complain, be grumpy about... and is basically gender agnostic, despite the etymology.

Personally I seem to suffer from 'thinking angry-face' - Apparently my 'thinking' frown looks positively furious, and often worries people.
