Assault

I just didn't bother writing about them because they were so common.

Honestly, I wish I found that harder to believe. But based on what I've seen/experienced/heard first hand, it's unsurprising to me that people (on the receiving end) have been treating it like "background noise". The same thing has been happening within online-originated harassments too -- so common, no one bothered writing about it, yet others did not realise how common it was so thought the few reports they saw were strange one-off exceptions. So thanks for writing it down this time, and adding to the documentation.

I wish that all men-who-are-attracted-to-women could exist for a while without sight [...]

I'm not sure that'd end well.... Just saying :-)

(Think: "look with my hands"; "but I can't see you, how else can I tell where you are/what you look like".)

I do understand the sentiment though. For a period, many many years ago, it looked like maybe online communication might achieve that kind of "people as people", which might then transfer over into the "real world". Yeah, not so much :-(

Unfortunately I'm not sure what the Magic Path To Empathy (tm) actually is for those who haven't already found it via some other means.
